GMC was founded in 1901 by Max Grabowsky and is headquartered in Detroit. They are the second largest vehicle division owned by GM (after Chevy and before Pontiact). GMC produces Trucks, Vans, and SUVs.
Many GMC trucks are almost identical to their Chevy counterparts. GMC is available for sale through a number of franchisees while Chevy is only through Chevrolet dealers.
